Caimán

for String Trio

This work was written for the visiting guest ensemble, The Lost Marbles Trio. It is inspired by the graceful yet menacing caimáns that inhabit Central and South America.

Premiered by The Lost Marbles Trio: Alexandrina Boyanova, violin; Hannah Selin, viola; and Valeriya Sholokhova, cello

Waves

for Solo Piano.

This work is inspired from my time growing up by the shore. Standing on the shoreline has always acted as a catalyst for myself to become introspective: this led to my interest in representing the ocean in its own physically reflective state. The piece flows through different moods based on various features of the ocean, such as small shifting glares of sunlight, playful folding foam, and the expansive horizon.
